Future Plans

St. Xaviers has entered its 150th year. Alsoc has envisioned a number of projects to be initiated in this 150th year. These projects are by far the most ambitious of the projects that Alsoc has undertaken till now, once implemented, they will enable St. Xaviers to meet the future requirements of education in terms of infrastructure and quality education as also it will address some needs of the staff in order to let them be more dedicated to the Institution that is St. Xaviers.

Primary School Project : The school needs some more classrooms to meet the growing needs of education. As a step towards this, a new floor is to be constructed on top of the 3 existing floors of the Primary School Building. This along with two towers on either side of the building will give the school new rooms. The terrace will be covered in the form of a shed and the whole school building will be provided with a noise free and pollution system by either covering the entire school building in a glass enclosure or a similar system and providing state of the art ventilation systems. An elevator will serve on all the floors of the school, essentially for the staff. The covered terrace will serve the purpose of a multipurpose hall and may house indoor games and other facilities. The entire project will be undertaken in two phases.

Phase I will involve the construction of 2 towers along side the esisting stairwells on either side of the building. This will result in 8 classrooms. The total cost of Phase I of this project is estimated at Rs. 2.00 crores apart from the elevator.

Considering the enormity of the project, Alsoc is looking for part sponsors for this project. The entire project has been split into various sections as below :
Elevator : Rs. 12 to 15 lacs.
Individual Class Rooms (with entire fittings ) : Rs. 25 lacs

Elevator for the Senior School : The existing elevator in this building is more than 50 years old and has been rendered irreparable. A new elevator will cost around 12 to 15 lacs.

Chairs for qualified teachers : To uplift the education standards of the school and to bring in better teaching talent to the school, Alsoc wishes to make an endowment of Rs. 2.00 crores which will fund the employment of highly qualified teachers for the school.

Medical Health Insurance : Considering the current pay scales of the teachers and other staff and the rising cost of medication, Alsoc is proposing to make an endowment to fund the premium payment towards around 180 staff of the school. This will cover the hospitalization and treatment costs (and if possible consultation cost) for the teaching and non teaching staff of the school. The endowment fund envisaged is Rs. 2.00 crores.
